With 54,000 metric tons of chargers discarded annually and the EU mandating USB-C by 2025, Oak Development & Design sought a modern, sustainable charging solution for household gangways.
I worked on engineering a patented, retractable charging system using DFM / DFA principles to minimize parts, eliminate fasteners and optimize injection-molded components. I rapidly prototyped via FDM with intuitive push-pull mechanisms and robust safety features.
The result was a scalable, manufacturable and streamlined assembly. It reduced costs and aligned with the industry shift toward universal and sustainable charging.
