The client needed a precise, bench-mountable cutting device for medical materials at different widths, such as foam, rubber and fabrics.
Work was done to develop a modular and purely mechanical cutter. It features a rotary cutter with adjustable pressure, calibrated measurement rails and an integrated safety guard. For convenient in-house fabrication, 90% of the parts are 3D-printable.
The final design achieved a tool with repeatable and safe performance, capable of ±0.5mm precision. It was a user-friendly and finely tuned device, ideal for medical applications.
